Lose weight now – Stay slim forever
This is a tough question to get an answer to and it’s even tougher to take the answer and USE IT.
So- my first bit of advice is you really need to commit yourself to this.
So- my second bit of advice is you really need to be patient. At first you might feel weak, sore, and just sick of a diet and exercise regime.
But assuming you can do those things, I will make some generic suggestions:
DIET:
Eat a lot of protein- especially complete proteins. Most complete proteins are those that come from animals; so milk, eggs, chicken breast, and cottage cheese are all good sources of this type of protein.
If you are going to invest in protein powder, try for whey protein. It’s the best kind.
Avoid fats, sugars, and simple carbohydrates.
Fiber will control hunger, and complex proteins (in moderation) can give you the energy you need.
Do need eat less than 1,800 calories a day if you are a young male and working out.
EXERCISE:
Find a gym.
Do NOT focus only on the arms. Guys tend to do this, but 80% of our muscle is below the waist (if I’m not mistaken?). Don’t forget the quadriceps, glutes, chest, back, shoulders, etc!
Go for some core lifts like the squat, bench, and deadlift. Those are effective in targeting a large portion of your core muscles (the most important ones).
If you want to get jacked up, don’t spend too much time on cardio, because it can actually deplete some muscle.
Get your protein on after workouts- within 30 minutes is ideal.
And… learn! Learn about the muscles; learn what lifts target what muscles, and learn what to eat. It will give you more confidence and maybe even spark a new passion.
