What steps should I take to begin an organic diet?

maggotr0n asked:

Hello! Okay, so I am ready to take the step to begin an organic diet. I would like some tips about doing so. Should I “wean off” regular foods (although, for the record I already eat natural, light foods, healthy stuff)? What foods should I definitely avoid for this process? Is there a website that can help me for this?

Thanks so much ^.^

See, it all depends on your type of “level” already. I mean like its not as easy as some say it is. Many foods have way different flavors than the food now. For example, Rice vs. Brown Rice (Organic). There is a difference you have to get used to it and its hard trust me :) . First of all, I recommend starting out with taking off the food that is really really unhealthy than work from there. Than, start taking off the soda than other useless things. As you said you need to “wean off” the the regular foods and replace them with organic. But it all starts with how you want to begin. I recommend starting out with taking off that Rice and pasta. Because those foods taint their natural food and take away many of the good and nutritious items in it. Than from there work your way up :) .

    Hope this helps :)

Understand that some foods will not taste very good when you go on a organic diet. In time if you stay focused and keep eating the organic food then your body will begin to except it. When I started drinking green tea, I had to put a lot of sugar to actually enjoy it. But using a lot of sugar can be very unhealthy. So I didn’t use any more sugar. At first it tasted nasty but after a while I got used to it. You should choose a food, stick with it until you are sure you can it the organic version of it and then go on to the next one. And try not to eat processed food, no matter what it says on the box it is not 100% organic. When you buy food, look at the ingredients, there are too bigies that you want to stay away from, high fructose corn syrup and yeast extract. Here is another rule of thumb, if you can’t pronounce the ingredient of the food, don’t eat it.

Congrats on making the switch to Organic! You don’t have to “wean” off regular food, just make a effort to buy Organic whenever possible. Some foods you should totally avoid if you can’t get organic.. the following are known as the “Dirty Dozen” and are the 12 Most Contaminated with Pesticides – so you should only eat them if they are Organic. I’d start with these…

    • Apples
    • Bell Peppers
    • Celery
    • Cherries
    • Imported Grapes
    • Nectarines
    • Peaches
    • Pears
    • Potatoes
    • Red Raspberries
    • Spinach
    • Strawberries

A great website to visit is – Good luck!
